Genome-wide analysis of social behaviour across social domains, reporters and developmental stages: a meta-regression approach
Genes tied to social behavior shift depending on who reports it and a person's age.
Lucía de Hoyos, Fenja Schlag et al.
Genes linked to social behavior in kids and young adults do not act the same way everywhere. The genetic pattern changes depending on who reports the behavior, like a parent or teacher, and how old the person is. Scientists found 6 spots in the genetic code tied to these traits. Genes explained between 2% and 7% of the differences seen between people, and fell into 4 main patterns based on context.
The size of the group studied to find genetic links to social behavior.
Large study, but European ancestry only, cannot prove genes cause behavior.
