A CCL21 gene-modified dendritic cell vaccine combined with pembrolizumab in advanced non-small cell lung cancer: a phase I trial

A lung cancer vaccine plus immune drug brought immune cells into tumors but did not shrink them.

Michael S. Oh, Aaron E. Lisberg et al.

A combination treatment for advanced lung cancer did not shrink tumors in a small trial of 23 patients. The treatment paired an immune-boosting vaccine made from a patient's own cells with a cancer drug already used to help the immune system fight tumors. It was safe to use. It brought more immune cells into tumors, but those cells often did not stick around or fight the cancer well.

The number 0 of 23 patients responded

The share of patients whose tumors actually shrank in this small safety trial.

Only 23 patients, early-phase safety trial, not a proven treatment.
